Biography
H. R. Fuller was a representative of a college textbook firm detained in Memphis after asking police where the Communist Party held meetings. An account reprinted in the Daily Worker of March 11, 1931, page 4, from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch says that although he was not a party affiliate, police locked him in a cell for forty-eight hours, refused a friend permission to visit, and then released him with a lecture. The account gives no arrest or release date, identifies no formal charge, and does not expand his initials.
