Biography

George Woolf, identified as president of the San Francisco Ship Scalers Union, was arrested during the union’s 1935 dispute, according to the December Labor Defender. This is distinct from the Santa Rosa vigilante victim Edward B. Woolf. The report supplies no individual statutory count, exact arrest or physical release day, final judgment or completed custody duration. Labor Defender, December 1935, original PDF page 21. Printed page 4 says twelve men were arrested after a disrupted Ship Scalers meeting in which nine workers were injured. Woolf was arrested at the hospital while visiting the injured and was later dismissed. The remaining defendants were reported out on $250 cash or $500 property bond; those collective terms are not automatically assigned to Woolf. The source gives no exact arrest/dismissal day or complete duration.
