Biography

George Lambert, the Socialist state secretary in Tennessee, was arrested in Memphis during preparations to show a labor film at a Workers Alliance mass meeting. The January 23, 1937 Socialist Call says Harris was seized while preparing the projector and Lambert was jailed minutes later under a fire-law pretext, though the equipment had been used at educational institutions. The arrests occurred the preceding week, but exact days, physical release, final verdicts and complete durations are unprinted. Socialist Call, January 23, 1937, original PDF page 4.
