Biography
Frank Grady was prosecuted with John Jankowski in the 1975–1976 arms case involving 1970 transactions over the export of weapons to Northern Ireland. He received two years, with all but four months suspended.
The federal indictment in the arms case was filed on May 2, 1975, and trial began on March 8, 1976 before U.S. District Judge Charles L. Brieant Jr. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Q. Carey prosecuted the case. The Second Circuit affirmed the judgment on October 27, 1976. The underlying firearms transactions occurred in 1970. Grady was convicted of firearms-record falsification and conspiracy, and unlawful export of rifles for the IRA in Northern Ireland. On the export count he received two years, all but four months suspended, with three years probation; the other counts carried suspended imposition of sentence and concurrent probation.
