Biography
Elise Knaub is a Chicago science teacher and activist arrested during the October 3, 2025 protest outside the Broadview immigration detention facility. She told the Chicago Tribune that federal agents held her for approximately eight hours and released her without charges. A court-filed CBP arrest chart independently records her arrest and lists prosecution as declined.
Chicago Police Department records separately document an August 20, 2024, arrest during the Democratic National Convention protests. The report lists an 8:45 p.m. arrest and placement in the District 019 Female Lockup, with allegations of failure to disperse and resisting or obstructing a peace officer. This is separate from Knaub’s October 2025 Broadview detention. The report does not establish the 2024 release date, conviction, or sentence.
