Biography

Darrell D. Rupiper was a Missionary Oblate priest born March 7, 1937 in Carroll, Iowa. His ministry included work with poor and unhoused communities in Recife, Brazil, and an unsuccessful 1980 peace mission to the American hostages in Iran. He entered Offutt Air Force Base on December 28, 1981 during a Feast of the Holy Innocents witness against nuclear war and was detained and barred from the base. After returning for a Nagasaki Day protest on August 9, 1982, he received and served a 30-day sentence. Rupiper later led environmental and creation-care ministries until his death on February 10, 2009.

Separate November 1983 Offutt sentence admission

The report names Darrell Rupiper among seven people sentenced November 15, 1983 for repeated entry at Strategic Air Command headquarters, and explicitly dates his actual start of a fifty-day sentence to November 28. His listed Douglas County Jail address and possible future transfer are distinguished from an original admission day. No January forecast or nominal fifty-day term is entered as actual discharge or completed service. This is distinct from his existing 1981 and 1982 cases.

Contemporary 1983–1984 custody evidence

The recently released directory affirmatively names Darrell Rupiper, corroborating that he was out by this February 12 report. It does not state his individual discharge day or certify that the full 50-day nominal term was served. No exact endpoint is manufactured from the earlier November 28 intake or directory forecast.
