Biography
Charles White was a Western Worker salesman arrested in San Francisco after an armed confrontation on November 24, 1934. The newspaper reported that a man attacked White with a gun, that White took the gun while defending himself, and that police then arrested him. White was held under $5,000 bail on robbery-with-a-deadly-weapon, vagrancy and resisting-an-officer charges; a physician documented serious injuries.

Dr. Quin’s November 25 affidavit describes injuries and fever after a police beating; these are attributed observations. PDF page 21 describes the preceding Saturday’s Mission Street arrest. PDF pages 14 and 16 separately name White in an earlier Jefferson Park meeting prosecution, scheduled for December 4 trial.
