Biography

Carl Carlson was a fifty-nine-year-old longshoreman arrested on a picket line during the 1934 California maritime-strike crackdown. The ILD brutality report reproduced in the October Labor Defender says officer number 828 tied him to a post and beat him while handcuffed. This establishes actual police restraint, without a precise personal arrest date, charge, judicial sentence, jail admission, discharge or measured service. The event-qualified profile does not assert that he was the different record’s Delaware hunger-march defendant Carl Carlson.
