Biography
C. W. Morris was a Working Class Union member from Oklahoma. C. W. Morris was sentenced to six years in prison. He served in Leavenworth Penitentiary from October 6, 1918, to September 25, 1920, when he was paroled.
The presidential-clemency table in the 1921 Senate amnesty hearings records a sentence imposed October 6, 1917: Six years. Commuted July 17, 1920 to four years with good-conduct allowances. A pardon, commutation, nominal expiration or parole eligibility is not itself evidence of the day of physical release; the imposed or reduced term is not a measured time served.
