Biography

Page 1 names Britt Webster and Joe Figureroa as defense-squad leaders at the Los Angeles Marine Workers Industrial Union offices when a Red Squad led by Officer Strand tried to enter during the maritime strike. The August 27 dispatch says Municipal Judge Shineman imposed thirty days on August 21 for battery. The enlarged scan prints Figureroa, rather than silently normalizing to Figueroa.
