Biography

Bill Busick was an International Ladies Garment Workers Union organizer in Los Angeles who helped establish CIO organizations among automobile, steel and rubber workers. T. Laurence, business agent of the Los Angeles joint board, stated in the June 25, 1938 Socialist Call that Busick led the Douglas Aircraft sit-down strike, was arrested and stood trial with the strikers. The retrospective confirms his own strike-related arrest but prints no individual admission day, statutory charge, sentence, final trial disposition or physical discharge date.
