Biography
Bertha "Betsy" Wallerstein Hutchison (May 25, 1899 - July 3, 1950) was a member of the National Woman's Party and one of the "Silent Sentinels" imprisoned during the 1917-1919 campaign to picket the Wilson White House for woman suffrage.
She was arrested on February 4, 1919, though the disposition of that arrest is unresolved. Arrested again at the watchfire demonstration of February 9, she was sentenced the following day to five days and released on February 13.
Her jail term was in February 1919, not January; earlier versions of this record placed it in the wrong month.
