Marius Mason’s Prison Term and Release Campaign

Marius Mason was serving a sentence of nearly 22 years for environmental sabotage when his imprisonment entered its sixteenth year in 2024. His support campaign maintained correspondence, shared his artwork and raised funds.

Update: In a statement published in April 2026, Mason said he expected to leave prison in May and return to Michigan. He thanked supporters for help with legal advice, medical information and his transition while incarcerated.

Mason also described earning a paralegal qualification and studying to become a writing tutor. He hoped to use those skills to help others after release.

The Anarchist Black Cross Federation subsequently confirmed that he had left prison for a halfway house.
