Biography
Yang Yoon-Mo is a Korean Jeju Naval Base resister. Obstruction of business of military port contractors, Jeju.
Since 2007, the South Korean government has been constructing a major naval base on Gangjeong village, Jeju Island — a UNESCO biosphere reserve and South Korea's southernmost island. The base, designed to host U.S. and South Korean Aegis destroyers and a port-of-call for U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, is widely understood as a forward-deployment site for the U.S. military's posture against China. Local Gangjeong residents and Korean peace activists have maintained continuous nonviolent resistance at the construction gates since 2010; hundreds have been arrested and dozens have served Korean prison sentences for trespass, obstruction, and civil disobedience.
The October 2013 Gangjeong prison roster places him at Jeju prison, number 301, since February 1, 2013 and calls October 8 day 250. This documents a 2013 confinement, distinct from the separately recorded 2014 episode. The running count is intermediate; no precise discharge or complete custody total follows. 2013 prison chronology: conflicting legacy dates
The September and October 2013 Gangjeong Village Story original newsletters list Yang Yoon-Mo at Jeju Prison since February 1. The October issue explicitly calls October 8 his 250th prison day. These reports document a 2013 stay not represented by the current January31–April12,2014 row. They do not establish whether the existing row is a later separate stay or a year/date conflation, nor an actual release date. Do not combine or add overlapping counters before reconciling the original case source.
