Biography

Wanda Kolletta was a Chicago garment-strike picket prosecuted repeatedly in 1924. The May 24 Daily Worker reports that she had been arrested earlier that week on an assault charge and was awaiting trial. It separately recalls an April sentence by Judge Sullivan of a $350 fine and fifteen days. On May 23 Judge Foell imposed a $150 contempt fine; that fine is not a jail term. The article does not give her exact arrest day, physical release or total time actually served.
