Biography
Vanda Kaleto was a Chicago garment-strike picket associated with the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. The authorities imprisoned this union activist in 1926 for defying the anti-picketing injunction during the 1924 strike.
The June 22 account describes Kaleto’s actual Friday admission and the refusal to let her seven-month-old baby Henry enter with her. A friend cared for the child.
