Biography

Vicci Hamlin, age 60, was one of three women who chained themselves to heavy machinery at an Enbridge pipeline worksite near Stockbridge, Michigan in July 2013. Convicted of misdemeanor trespassing and felony obstruction; 13 months probation plus $750 fine.

The January 31, 2014 MICATS press release reports that, after guilty verdicts for trespass and resisting or obstructing an officer, Judge William Collette revoked bail and ordered immediate custody. Sentencing was scheduled for March 5. The press-release date establishes that this later remand had occurred by January 31; it does not independently establish the exact physical admission day. Continuous imprisonment since the July 2013 protest arrest is not established, and the release supplies no completed jail total.
