Biography

Trina Rupley is a U.S. citizen arrested while witnessing a federal immigration operation at a Linda Vista apartment complex in San Diego on July 2, 2025. She was held overnight at the San Ysidro Port of Entry and later released. Federal prosecutors charged her with assaulting a federal officer. On March 26, 2026, she appeared in court after accepting an agreement to defer prosecution for one year. Under the agreement, prosecutors would drop the charge if she committed no crimes during that period. Pretrial monitoring ended, and a follow-up hearing was scheduled for March 25, 2027. The agreement was conditional and did not itself dismiss the charge.
