Biography
Tony Diedtman, whose name was George Antone Dittman, was a Bavarian-born baker and bartender in Helena. He was convicted of sedition after two trials over comments criticizing the United States and its treatment of Germans. The Montana Supreme Court reversed his conviction in May 1920, finding that the trial judge had favored the prosecution. Diedtman left prison on May 22, 1920.
