Biography

Tom Tamotsu Sako was a Japanese American participant in the Heart Mountain draft-resistance movement. After being confined at Heart Mountain during World War II, he was prosecuted for refusing military conscription and imprisoned at McNeil Island in Washington.

1942 forced-removal chronology

The Heart Mountain institutional biography records arrival at Santa Anita Assembly Center on May 27, 1942, followed by Heart Mountain on September 13, 1942. These are dated confinement milestones, not a complete continuous-custody span or a revision of the later draft-resistance case. Heart Mountain institutional biography.
