Biography

Tom Yoshio Oki was a Japanese American participant in the Heart Mountain draft-resistance movement. After being confined at Heart Mountain during World War II, he was prosecuted for refusing military conscription and imprisoned at McNeil Island in Washington.

1942 forced-removal chronology

The Heart Mountain institutional biography records arrival at Pomona Assembly Center on May 14, 1942, followed by Heart Mountain on August 13, 1942. These are dated confinement milestones, not a complete continuous-custody span or a revision of the later draft-resistance case. Heart Mountain institutional biography.
