Biography

Theoren Papp is a Level 12 Productions videographer. Police arrested him on May 31, 2026, while he documented protests outside the Delaney Hall immigration detention facility in Newark. He told the U.S. Press Freedom Tracker that officers prevented him from leaving a police enclosure despite identifying himself as press, forced him to the ground, and restrained him with tight zip ties. He was detained at Essex County Correctional Facility and released on June 1. Reporting in June documented that resisting-arrest and riot charges had been dropped or reduced, leaving a failure-to-disperse charge.
