Biography
Terry Tyler was Gary Tyler’s younger brother and organizer of the Gary Tyler Freedom Fighters. The Black Panther reported that St. Charles Parish police arrested him with Donald Files on May 17, 1976. They were held at the New Sarpy sheriff’s substation, initially denied a telephone call and told of a simple-burglary charge only the following afternoon, twenty-five hours after arrest, when they were released on bond. The report connected the arrests to the campaign to free Gary Tyler and described racist threats and Russian-roulette intimidation by deputies. The final disposition of the burglary charge is not established.
