Biography

In his October 1936 account of warrantless immigration arrests, Abner Green identifies Sol Goldband as seized at his New York home in 1933. Two inspectors climbed the apartment building’s fire escape while two others hammered on the apartment door. Goldband lived with his American-born wife and her parents. The source reports an accomplished immigration arrest without a warrant, but does not print the statutory deportation ground, a precise day, physical release or completed custody duration. The political-repression framing is that of Green and the American Committee for Protection of the Foreign Born.
