Biography

Sidney Feldman, a trial-board member of Musicians Union Local 802, was arrested while joining the picket line at the Minsky burlesque theatre on West 42nd Street, New York. The Daily Worker of March 27, 1935, page 4, individually names him among twenty-six arrested during the Monday-night protest supporting striking musicians, stagehands and motion-picture operators. The account says the group was held two hours at Precinct 18, taken to the Seventh Magistrates Court on 54th Street, and paroled in the custody of Local 802 attorney Harry Tascher. A trial scheduled for the next afternoon is a future proceeding, not a verified disposition. The formal charge and final outcome are unspecified.
