Nitassinan no. 39 (January–March 1995), printed page 24, identified Scott R. Seelye as an Ojibwa activist imprisoned at Marion and a defender of prisoners involved in the 1991 Montana prison uprising. The article reported that the uprising-related charges against him had been dropped, described his transfer to Marion as retaliation, and said that he continued to campaign for Native prisoners’ religious rights. These are the magazine’s contemporary account and allegations; they do not establish his original admission date or an exact acquittal date.
