Biography
Schindler was among those arrested at the May 26, 1934 relief demonstration at 50 Lafayette Street in New York. Jenkins says officers bound his hands and legs and beat him in the police-station cellar. These are the newspaper’s attributed witness accounts. No exact discharge day or complete custody total is established; surname-only defendants are not merged with unrelated same-surname prisoners. Daily Worker, May 31, 1934, page 2.
