Biography

Sandra Carmona Samane was prosecuted with Ashleigh Brown and Cynthia Raygoza following an August 28, 2025 encounter involving an ICE officer in Baldwin Park, California. Her defense said she was a passenger in a vehicle whose occupants believed they were following immigration-enforcement activity, and argued that her conduct was political commentary protected by the First Amendment. Prosecutors alleged conspiracy to disclose protected personal information and later charged cyberstalking. She was arrested on September 12, 2025, and initially granted a $5,000 bond. On December 3, she was arrested again in a proceeding to revoke pretrial release and remanded to federal custody. On December 8, the court ordered her to remain detained pending trial. On February 27, 2026, the jury acquitted her on both counts and she was released from custody.
