Biography
S. Kelman was a labor prisoner welcomed by the Brownsville International Labor Defense branch, Jewish Workers Cultural Club and Women’s Council No.7 after release from three months in prison. The banquet notice in the Daily Worker of May 29, 1931, page 2, establishes the stated completed imprisonment and recent release but does not expand the initial or specify charges, institution or exact custody endpoints. Three months is retained as reported served time without conversion into days.
