Biography

Rubin Berger was prosecuted for assault arising from his activities in the Needleman and Bremmer garment strike. The January 10 issue reports that his trial the preceding day ended in dismissal after detective Sorger’s testimony became contradictory. The paper alleges an employer and union-official frame-up. The article does not establish whether or how long Berger was physically held before trial.
