Biography
Robert Woods was an IWW member from Sacramento. Robert Woods received a three-year prison sentence, which he served in San Quentin from September 17, 1923, to January 1925.
1920s remaining-entry review: Kohn, page 169, gives January 1925, improving the former year-only release precision. The first day is a storage placeholder, not an exact release day. His individual entry is in the state criminal-syndicalism section, not a federal Espionage Act case.
The February 26, 1924 Daily Worker political-prisoner roster individually prints Robert Woods with historical prisoner number 38362. Its continued Walla Walla heading appears to run into California prisoners, while this individual’s existing record documents San Quentin. The printed identifier is transcribed; no transfer to Washington or institution change is inferred from that heading. This is a contemporary institutional identifier, not a federal BOP register number. No admission or release date, individual sentence length, actual duration, organizational membership or present status is inferred.
The December 17, 1924 Daily Worker roster prints Robert R. Woods at San Quentin as prisoner 38362, matching the existing institutional number and identity. The printed middle initial R. is recorded without expanding it or changing custody dates.
