Biography
Robert Webb was a Field Marshal of the New York chapter of the Black Panther Party and one of the original Panther 21 defendants — twenty-one New York Panthers arrested on April 2, 1969 and charged with conspiring to bomb New York police stations and Manhattan department stores. Webb died on March 8, 1971, before the May 13, 1971 Panther 21 acquittals. The endpoints of his individual earlier detention remain unverified.
Death preceded the Panther 21 verdict
The Robert Webb memorial entry on printed page 19 (original PDF page 13) explicitly gives his death as March 8, 1971, corroborating the existing death field. The biography’s former statement that he personally remained jailed until and received a May 13 acquittal was incompatible with that date. That claim and the unsupported “three weeks before” timing in the case summary are corrected without guessing a release day or changing the arrest field. This memorial does not establish whether or when he was released before his death.
