Biography

Lee Roper was a Black Panther Party member indicted in the April 2, 1969 New York Panther 21 conspiracy case. He was one of the 13 defendants who went to trial and was acquitted on May 13, 1971.

The Black Panther’s January 10, 1970 court report says Judge Murtagh refused to set bail for Lee Roper and William King, now known as Kwando Kinshasa, after their November arrests in Columbus, Ohio.
