Biography
Richard Tsunehide Nakamura was a child from Honolulu and the son of Tomoaki and Mitsue Nakamura. JCCH records the birth year as 1933. The individual record documents mainland transfer aboard Lurline in December 1942, Jerome confinement January 1943-May 1944 and Tule Lake confinement May 1944-November 1945, followed by return to Hawaii aboard Shawnee in December 1945. This was administrative US wartime family confinement in the context of Japanese ancestry. No individual criminal conviction, imposed judicial sentence, exact arrest date or exact release day is established. The earlier confinement of the father is not assigned to this child.
