Contemporary 1969 confinement observations
CCCO News Notes,September–October 1969,volume 21number 5,pages 3–4, reports Richard Chandler undergoing a hunger strike while in administrative segregation at Lewisburg federal penitentiary. It says the segregation had lasted approximately six months and separately recalls a prolonged hunger strike the preceding February. These are contemporary observations of confinement, not an exact first-admission date. The account gives no physical-release day or total time served; neither a calendar endpoint nor a continuous lifetime custody span is calculated from it.
