Biography
Raven Blackheart is a transgender woman imprisoned at Red Onion State Prison in Virginia who pursued civil-rights litigation and complaints about sexual violence and mistreatment. UPROAR’s June 2025 campaign reported that she filed a federal civil-rights suit in 2024 and later faced punitive isolation, interference with legal mail and refusal of medical care. The campaign attributed these reports to Blackheart and her family and sought outside medical treatment, legal access and protection from retaliation. Her underlying conviction and original custody endpoints are unestablished.
