Cases

In exile since: Oct 31, 1918
Sentence: Deported on October 31, 1918. No arrest date or detention span is documented, so nothing is added to the imprisonment counter.
McNeil Island Federal Penitentiary
Charges: Federal conspiracy prosecution for interfering with firefighters on government timber lands during the July 1917 Olympic National Forest timber strike.
Sentenced: December 1917
Sentence: Sentenced in December 1917 to one year and one day at McNeil Island. A 1924 Bureau of Labor Statistics report, naming Robert Solen and his codefendants, states that each served one year; this rounded account does not establish precise custody endpoints or a measured day total. Contemporary reporting places Solen in the Port Angeles county jail by July 25, 1917. His October 31, 1918 deportation belongs to a separate administrative case and is not automatically treated as the federal prison release date.
