Biography

Phil Fineberg was one of four leaders arrested at a Brooklyn unemployed-relief picket at the Sixtieth Street Home Relief Bureau, Kings Highway and East Seventeenth Street. The Daily Worker of August 5, 1936, page 3, names Mollie Horn, Unemployment Council organizer, Sol Winick, Phil Fineberg and Mr. Olms among seventy-five pickets protesting termination of relief for seventeen families. It describes the arrests as occurring yesterday, August 4. The separate Bronx disorderly-conduct charges in the same article are not assigned to these Brooklyn defendants. Olms is supplied without a first name. No sentence, release or measured custody is given. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1936/v13-n187-NY-aug-05-1936-DW-Q.pdf
