Biography

Pete Beazley was one of ten IWW witnesses arrested after their testimony at the Casdorf–Firey trial. The June 14, 1922 Glendale Daily Press reports the men still held in jail despite a defense offer of$60,000 in Liberty bonds. People v.LaRue,62 Cal.App.276, May 23, 1923 identifies Charles B. LaRue in its title, discusses O’Mara, Smith and Zangar, and places the original Casdorf–Firey trial in late March/early April 1922. The court’s later affirmance is not physical discharge; the newspaper’s ten-year statutory maximum is not an actual term. No exact individual arrest or physical endpoint is established.
