Biography

Panfilo Moreno was one of four cantaloupe-strike prisoners denied habeas relief by Judge A. C. Finney in El Centro on May 15, 1928. The June 1 Daily Worker says bail was reduced from $1,000 to $500 each, but they could not pay and were sent back to jail. Alfred Blaisdell sought relief on behalf of the Mexican vice-consul. The subsequent guilty plea and suspended term concern Frank Hermandez alone and are not assigned to this person. A later collective release report gives no individual gate date.
