Biography
Oren L. Miller (born c. 20th century) is a former local politician and public figure who served as a Sumter County Commissioner in Florida. In 2022, he faced legal trouble with a perjury conviction, but in 2023 an appellate panel overturned that conviction, effectively vindicating him in the case. After the appellate decision, Miller issued a public statement expressing gratitude to supporters and reaffirming his commitment to serving his community.
Unlike the others listed above, Miller’s legal issues did not arise from activism or protest, but from a court case involving alleged perjury in his role as a county official, and his case is notable for the overturning of his conviction on appeal rather than for incarceration as a prisoner of conscience.
