Ollie Dawson was a Black worker held in the Norfolk, Virginia jail — in the cell next to Archie Gibbs — and, the Labor Defender reported, railroaded to the electric chair on a framed murder charge in a trial rushed through in a couple of days before a hostile jury; he was electrocuted a few days after Gibbs's release.
