Biography
Nicholas Marino was an Amalgamated Clothing Workers strike picket employed by the International Tailoring Company in Chicago. Page 2 of the Daily Worker of September 11, 1925 names this worker in its roster of arrested strikers scheduled to appear in municipal court, Room 1106 of City Hall, before Judge Harry Hamlin. Police and detectives had arrested the pickets over the preceding eleven weeks of the strike. The article describes more than one hundred charges collectively against eighty-four strikers, without assigning an individual charge or arrest date to each person. Attorney William A. Cunnea represented the strikers, who had demanded jury trials. The reported court appearance is prospective; no conviction, sentence, completed hearing, release or exact confinement duration is established.
