Biography
Nathan Walker Joseph, known as Ducky, is an environmental activist who joined Mountain Justice and RAMPS organizers in a May 24, 2012 protest against mountaintop-removal coal mining. Joseph and four other activists boarded and locked themselves to a coal barge at the Quincy Docks near Chelyan, West Virginia, while a related group blocked a mine haul road on Kayford Mountain. Joseph later pleaded guilty to obstruction, entered South Central Regional Jail on August 30 to serve a five-day sentence, and was released September 3 after just over 96 hours.
