Biography

Nathan Vilas Laatsch, a former Defense Intelligence Agency employee, was arrested on May 29, 2025 after giving classified documents to an undercover FBI agent he believed represented a foreign government. He pleaded guilty in August 2026 to transmitting national-defense information and remained in custody awaiting a January 2027 sentencing.

Age and limits of the initial affidavit

The FBI affidavit sworn May 28, 2025 identifies Nathan Vilas Laatsch as 28 years old. If that age is accurate, his birthday falls between May 29, 1996 and May 28, 1997; the affidavit does not disclose an exact birth date or establish a single birth year. It describes a further operation scheduled for May 29, not an executed arrest or booking on that date. The separately established May 29 arrest and admission dates and the later plea and sentencing information remain unchanged.
