Biography

Napoleon was a worker arrested and beaten by police during the October 27, 1930 Zelgreen Cafeteria picketing in New York. The Daily Worker of October 28, page 1, identifies him only as Napoleon and says he had recently also been beaten on a picket line. Twenty-one people were arrested; fifteen were dismissed and six held, but this report does not place Napoleon individually in either group. No full name, formal individual charge, sentence or release is inferred. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1930/v07-n259-NY-oct-28-1930-DW-LOC.pdf
