Biography

Michael Davidow, secretary of the Relief Workers League, was arrested with Paul Block and another activist while distributing leaflets at the ferry entrance to the Governors Island-Fort Jay relief project in New York. More than two hundred workers had struck against a mass layoff. The July 18, 1934 Daily Worker says the arrests occurred last week and announces trial that day in First District Magistrates Court, Franklin and Center Streets. The prospective trial is not a verdict. No exact arrest day, statutory count, discharge or complete duration is established.
