Biography

Masaichi Sesoko was a Honolulu teacher at Waialae Japanese Language School incarcerated during World War II. JCCH records March 1943 arrest, Honouliuli confinement April 1943-November 1944, Tule Lake confinement November 1944-March 1946 and an undated Crystal City entry. NPS identifies the same 1918-born teacher under the title Masaichi, while spelling his name Masakichi in its text. NPS describes military questioning at Fort Shafter and a security-risk designation, not a criminal conviction. It reports that after release he renounced US citizenship and returned to Japan. Its brief narrative does not date final release or describe the mainland sequence; no exact release date is inferred.
