Biography

Margaret Welch was a Chicago garment striker named on the four-woman committee appealing for support on March 20, 1924. The March 21 Daily Worker explicitly describes these committee members as repeatedly imprisoned during the strike. This is an earlier police-detention history without exact endpoints for its separate episodes, not proof of continuous imprisonment or a completed later contempt sentence.
