Biography

Marc Baker was an Earth First! activist from Prescott, Arizona and a member of the small EMETIC affinity group. On May 30, 1989 he was arrested with Mark Davis and Peg Millett in the Arizona desert in the FBIs THERMCON sting operation. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and was sentenced to 6 months in federal prison.

The June 21, 1989 Earth First! Journal reported that Marc Baker remained jailed without bond after the late-May arrests. This was pretrial custody, before the later 1991 sentencing and prison term. A possible July 5 hearing was reported for Millett only; the source does not establish an actual release date or a continuous custody period through 1991.
